Poo girl craze

A teenager who became stuck down a camping toilet portable loo at a music festival has become an unlikely star.
Facebook groups dedicated to “Poo Girl” have sprung up and merchandise is on sale in honour of the lavatory victim.
The 19-year old accidentally dropped her handbag down the toilet at Leeds Festival, and made the mistake of trying to retrieve it.
Alarmed friends waiting outside called for help, and seven fire fighters came to the stricken teenager’s aid.
The girl, identified only as Charlotte, was stuck for 20 minutes as rescuers first tried to dismantle the loo then managed to pull her free.
“I think most people would have left the bag, but it had all of her money in it, her phone and her tickets home – her life really,” her cousin, Katie, told Sky News Online.
“She couldn’t reach with one arm so she put her other arm in, and managed to get her shoulders stuck.
“Her arms are black and blue from bruises.”
Facebook group the Poo Girl Leeds Fest 2009 Appreciation Society‘ has attracted more than 13,000 members.
Tales of the incident are growing, with some festival-goers claiming she had slipped and was head-first down the loo with her legs kicking about in the air.
Like any good die-hard music lover, she stayed on at the festival after being “decontaminated”.
”She was hosed down, which was a bit embarrassing,” cousin Katie said.
”But she hadn’t been covered in anything as her hands were a good few feet above it.
”She went to get changed and she stayed for the rest of the festival – but she said she felt paranoid as she thought people would be nasty about the incident.
”She was a bit distressed when she came home but I told her not to take it to heart and I think she’s able to laugh it off now.
”I can’t believe how big the story has become. You can even buy ‘poo girl’ hoodies!”
